Delta Dental of Massachusetts Donates $60,000 to Community Dental Clinics with Help from Boston Hockey Legend Tuukka Rask
Season-long “Saves for Smiles” campaign celebrates DDMA's 60th anniversary while supporting access to dental care across Massachusetts.
BOSTON — October 23, 2026 — Delta Dental of Massachusetts (DDMA) is teaming up with Boston hockey legend Tuukka Rask and 98.5 The Sports Hub, the Bruins Radio Network, to launch Saves for Smiles, a season-long campaign supporting access to oral health care across Massachusetts.
In celebration of its 60th anniversary, DDMA will donate $60 for each save made by Boston goalies during the hockey season, up to the first 1,000 saves, resulting in a total donation of $60,000 across three community-based dental clinics working to make dental care more accessible to Massachusetts families.
The three organizations will each receive $20,000 to support direct oral health care:
- Family Health Center of Worcester: A community health center caring for more than 30,000 residents in the Greater Worcester area, offering a wide range of services, including comprehensive preventive, restorative, and emergency dental care for adults and children, regardless of their ability to pay.
- Cambridge Health Alliance: An academic health system serving people of all ages across Boston's metro-north region, including through its Windsor Street Care Center in Cambridge. Its dental services include the ACTION Clinic, a monthly pediatric dental program operated in partnership with students from Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
- Harbor Health's Ellen Jones Community Dental Center: Located in South Dennis, the center provides comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages regardless of insurance status or ability to pay, including preventive care, restorative treatment, and oral surgery.
"As a goalie, you know that every save matters. With Saves for Smiles, we’re taking that idea beyond the ice and turning saves into something that can make a real difference for families across Massachusetts. I’m proud to partner with Delta Dental of Massachusetts and 98.5 The Sports Hub to help support these community clinics and make access to dental care a little easier for the people who need it most."
— Tuukka Rask
"For 60 years, Delta Dental of Massachusetts has worked to improve oral health and expand access to direct care across the Commonwealth. As we celebrate this milestone, we want to recognize some of the community organizations doing this important work every day. Through Saves for Smiles, we're proud to support these outstanding community-based dental clinics and help more Massachusetts families get the care they need."
— DDMA President Erik Montlack
Throughout the hockey season, 98.5 The Sports Hub will help bring the campaign to life through hockey broadcasts and other programming, highlighting the three organizations and the essential care they provide. The campaign will also feature digital and social media content to raise awareness of their work and the importance of preventive oral health care.
The initiative reflects DDMA's longstanding commitment to improving oral health across Massachusetts and supporting community-based organizations that help make care accessible to those who need it most.
