Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What plan do I have?
RTX members have the Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier
TM plan.

Q. What is the difference between the Delta Dental Premier and the Delta Dental PPO network?
Delta Dental PPO gives you the lowest possible out-of-pocket costs. Participating dentists in the Delta Dental PPO network agree to accept lower fees for procedures, providing larger discounts that result in savings for Delta Dental members.

Delta Dental Premier is the largest dentist network in the country. In fact, more than four-out-of-five participating dentists in the nation have agreed to accept Delta Dental’s pre-negotiated fees for dental procedures.

Dentists in both networks have agreed not to charge more than Delta Dental’s allowed fees and they won’t balance bill you the difference between the allowed fees and their regular fees. Either way, members get savings and protection.

Q. What are the benefits of seeing an in-network dentist?
You get the best value. Not only will you maximize your benefit, your dentist will submit dental claims on your behalf.

Q. How do I find out if my dentist is part of the Delta Dental network?
Delta Dental has the largest national network of dentists across the country, so you are sure to find one that’s near you. Our online Find a Dentist tool makes it easy to choose a dentist. The tool will target your search by your plan name, which is Delta Dental PPO Plus PremierTM, and your city or zip code. The tool can also be used to search for a specific dentist, or search by practice name and specialty. Remember, choosing an in-network dentist will most likely always save you the most money on care.

Q. What happens if I visit a dentist who isn't part of the Delta Dental Premier or Delta Dental PPO network?
Your Delta Dental benefits also cover services performed by dentists who don't participate in our network. However, discounted fees and balance billing policies don't apply to non-network dentists and may result in greater out-of-pocket costs.

In addition, when visiting a non-network dentist, members are responsible for submitting their own claims.

Q. How do I submit a claim myself?
If you receive services from a dentist that is not part of our networks (who does not participate in either the Delta Dental PPO or Delta Dental Premier network), you can download a claim form from our secure member portal. To fill out the claim form, you will need the American Dental Association procedure codes (provided by your dentist’s office), along with your dentist's information and tax identification number (TIN). If available, please attach a copy of your bill as well.
