Clooney, Roberts Claim Celebrity ‘Best Smile’ Bragging Rights

OAK BROOK, Ill. (July 08, 2014) – George Clooney has another win to brag about next time he’s hanging out with Brad Pitt. According to a survey conducted by Delta Dental(1), Clooney has the best male celebrity smile, beating Pitt who placed second. Julia Roberts narrowly edged out Halle Berry to earn the title of best female celebrity smile.

According to Jennifer Elliott, vice president of the Delta Dental Plans Association, Delta Dental sponsored its Oral Health and Well-Being Survey to shine a spotlight on the importance of oral health and its relation to overall well-being.

“We asked Americans about a wide range of topics,” Elliott says. “For example, we found that people who go to the dentist at least once a year are more likely to feel better about their lives. We also learned that another Ocean’s Eleven sequel would feature three of the top four smiles in the country.”

Ryan Reynolds and Mark Wahlberg took the third and fourth spots, respectively, among male celebrities. Jennifer Garner and Gwyneth Paltrow placed third and fourth among the women.

“If it’s any consolation to Mr. Pitt, while he’s second overall, he won the vote of 18- to 24-year-olds,” Elliott says. “Mr. Clooney was particularly popular among those 45 and older.”
